Parents and Carers

To help parents understand the future of options for students the following website gives information to help guide our students.

Careers information for Parents and Carers

Parents and carers have a big impact on students’ aspirations, and conversations about careers can have a positive impact on students’ grades, their motivation to study and their attitude to success.

How can parents and careers help students understand what opportunities are available after they leave Cleethorpes Academy?

As an academy we would like to encourage parents and carers to help support our careers activities and share your stories of further education and experiences of the world of work.

We would like to invite parents to take part and contribute to students understanding of what the world of work is like when they leave Cleethorpes Academy.

Cleethorpes Academy would like to invite parents and carers to take part in any of our career’s activities as part of your career’s curriculum. Below we have made some suggestions of how you could take part.

How can you take part?

We would encourage parents and careers to take part as much as possible. If you can offer 5 minutes or a fully day our students will really appreciate hearing about your job and experiences.

  • Visit the academy.
  • Assemblies.
  • Speak to a class.
  • Speak to a small group of students who are interested in working in that industry.
  • Have a stand in the hall at lunchtime.
  • Videos of your work place – On your phone make a video about your job.
  • Online meetings via Microsoft Teams.
  • Speed Networking Event – This is where employers see students about their job for a period of time and then move around in a circle.
  • Careers Fair – Students go around stalls asking questions about jobs.
  • Mentoring – Helping students with how to access opportunities in the world of work.
